Boca Chica Key is a small island just east of Key West. The bay is a small area between US Highway 1 and a small mangrove island north of the highway and bridge, on the west side of the bridge. This is great flat water speed sailing area in North winds. Fine for beginners in south winds, but in north winds sailors bust be cautious not to be blown under the Boca Chica bridge where the wind is dirtied-up or dead. Weed fin recommended.

Look for a short aluminum pole with a small yellow reflector, and a few yards beyond, a US 1 sign. The opening is between them.
